The People Behind the Vision.

Rishen Patel is the Founder and Managing Director of Delaware Investments, a diversified investment and development company with interests spanning luxury hospitality, agriculture, infrastructure and industry in Tanzania.

After spending more than a decade in the United States, where he built and operated businesses across hospitality and food service, Rishen returned to Tanzania to establish and grow Delaware Investments.

Today, hospitality is one of the group's principal areas of focus. Rishen leads the development of Delaware's portfolio of internationally branded hotels and safari lodges across Tanzania, including projects being developed in partnership with Marriott International across several of its luxury and premium brands.

His involvement spans the full development cycle — from identifying and securing opportunities and structuring investments and partnerships, to financing, design, construction and ultimately bringing projects into operation.

Beyond hospitality, Rishen has led investments across agriculture, infrastructure and industry, reflecting Delaware's broader focus on building long-term businesses in sectors connected to Tanzania's economic growth.

A central part of his approach is ensuring that this growth creates opportunities locally. Across its projects, Delaware creates employment for Tanzanians, works with local suppliers and contractors, develops skills and supports the communities surrounding its businesses.

Rishen is also the founder of Give a Future Foundation, which supports community initiatives focused on education, healthcare, nutrition and creating better opportunities for children and families.

His ambition is to continue building businesses to international standards while demonstrating that globally competitive companies and hospitality experiences can be created, developed and operated from Tanzania.
